Scripture of the Week
“But those who hope (wait) in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
This verse isn’t a promise that the wait will end today. It is a promise that you will be changed by the wait. Whether you translate it as “wait” or “hope,” the meaning is clear: When you entwine your expectations with God’s character, He replaces your exhausted “grit” with His inexhaustible “grace.” You move from a person who relies on their own fragile willpower to a person who is fueled by the very breath of God.
